Win at the Dog Track - Start Skimming and Stop Struggling

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Most greyhound handicappers love to get their program. There’s something really promising about a new program. You get it and sit down with a cup of coffee (and a doughnut if you’re anything like me) and start going through Midge doll races.

You may find that the first few races are pretty easy to handicap. I don’t know why, but it always seems to me that they’re set Captain Maxx that way. But then you get to the fifth or sixth race and you get bogged down. No matter how many times you go over it, you can’t see where any one dog is better than the others - or worse for that matter.

Time passes and you sit there wishing you could just find one dog that stands out. Maybe you’ve missed something with the percentages or the times or … Suddenly, you look up and realize that it’s five minutes to the first race and you’ve only got half of the program handicapped. So now you have to rush through the rest of it or do it while the races are running and that takes your attention away from betting and watching the races.

Does this happen to you a lot? Transformers toys you find yourself struggling to get through the program because you’re bogged down on a race that’s hard to handicap, you need to rethink your handicapping strategy. Maybe you need to get your program earlier or download it from the Net the day before.

Or maybe you need to realize that - when you get bogged down and can’t figure out a race - it’s time to let it go and move on to the next race. You can always come back. And if it’s that hard to handicap, it’s an indication that you shouldn’t bet the race.

There’s no law that says you have to bet Strawberry Shortcake race on the program and common sense says you shouldn’t. I don’t care how good a handicapper you are, no one can pick winners in every race on every program. So, relax. Next time you get your program, skim it first to get a feel for the races you can handicap with ease and those that are harder to figure out.

Greyhound handicapping is hard enough without turning it into a struggle every time you go.

To win at the dog track, you need a winning system. You can learn the basics of handicapping from a program or online, but to really make good money at the dog track consistently, you need proven ebnetr.com/graded-greyhound-handicapping-system/”>Greyhound Handicapping Systems.

Tearing Down the Walls Recommitment in 2009

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Socially Disadvantage communities American Girls collection our youth future have taken another hit backwards in our nation from 2000 to 2008. What does 2009 hold for a nation plaque by racism, discrimination, and social injustice against our youth and our communities? Communities, youth, and families have continuously battled to feed their families and keep control dolls what is going on in the schools system at home and in their neighborhoods. As I travel through the Southern Bible Belt states and across the Midwest, I continue to see the same old problems in this trillion-dollar nation that we live in call America. Gas prices are off the roof, imports are still overwhelming our income, homes, and the price for life has taken us to foreclosure, while the rich continue to get richer and the poor stay socially disadvantage and under-served. The nation has lost its way due to the default of the American people judgment and values that have created insensitive Politian’s which have not stood for the people that have elected them.

However, we can only fault ourselves the people that put these individuals in office. We can’t blame anyone except our selves, for the mess in this country. Our vote for the right wing conservative politicians Thingmaker politicians has gotten us in this mess. The problems regard foreclosures are due to the people not Dell comics and not having the proper finances to get through everyday life, jobs-income. If you don’t have money you can’t pay anybody. We can’t blame it totally on greedy banks that don’t help the community where their customers are because we allow it. We need to make these banks accountability for being in our neighborhoods. Too much money coming in ,and not enough going into the communities that these Banks are donate used car We need to take ownership of poor judgment with the services of corporations and financial institutions that want to be in our neighbors. Many of these companies build in low -income areas but do nothing to revitalize the community except build high income homes to move out low-income families. The fault lies in the community for allowing these our government officials to have the power over us as they bail out big corporations and allow families to continue to struggle to feed each other.

Foreign influence controls our lives and the government gives permission to big business to take our jobs out of this country and leave us to homelessness, crime, and despair. Lou Dobbs of CNN has continued to express his concerns on helping the people of this country and has asked the Administration to reach out to the people. We as a nation are not demanding anything of our government and allowing our government officials and CEO’s to rap this country blind and them take it oversees for big profits. We as a people don’t share the same agenda to help one another and to keep our child safe as Dr. King work so hard to make these changes in America and the world. What can we do if anything to savage a problem that the state and local law makers don’t want to touch?

Discrimination is an insult to a nation with people of all colors and values, but we still continue to divide our true principles in life. Not Caring!

Due to the growing Billions spent in Iraq many of our citizens and veterans are left homeless with a Trillion dollar bill that becomes a taxpayer’s nightmare. Everything is affected by this war in Iraq but our Politicians move on to the next phase of their lives and continues to rake in the money from their interest with big lobbyist. Our Administration has become billionaires in 8 years and has continued to rap the country blind. The money that corporations and our politicians are getting from big lobbyist and contracts like Halliburton for Iraq and Afghanistan is a shame. This Administration is and has been out of touch with mainstream America needs. Taxes cuts for the rich only help the rich. The rich continue to get richer and the other class of Americans in this country continues to lose everything they have worked so hard for. It’s a lot talk about helping the American people but people in this country need immediate help not a lot of talk.

CNN and other network broadcasting news stations are having discussion about the economy and how the failing government can bailout big banks like Bear Stearns and watch politician raise millions of dollars to become the newly elected President of the United States, but we can’t help the American people in New Orleans or get books in our dilapidated schools. Why does it cost so much to become President only to rap the people of this country once again. Senator Clinton, Senator Obama, and Senator McCain has spent millions for a campaign while the economcy is falling to it knees. It’s a shame that they along with the rest of those Senators spend billions of dollars for a race that only helps the rich. Shouldn’t you be tried of this kind of politics?

Minorities especially Black African American people in this country have been discriminated against for more then 400 years, yes, slavery ended but discrimination has went on and on. The unemployment rate is double when it come to African American and that has been the problem sense slavery. African Americans are continually getting the shaft on the jobs, better schools, and within the community that they live in. Poverty in our communities is growing like a plague and the rich get richer and the poor stay poor, yes you have heard this before. The community and outreach centers for the under-served community have gone and we haven’t replaced them, only to see empty and vacant buildings only to be torn down and sold to developers, while watching developers buy the land and build new homes that are out of reach financially for that community which is being displaced. Poor people just don’t have an advocate with enough muscle and power to make a change in America.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., died in 1968 because he was the advocate for the under-severed (poor people) and they kill him for it. Dr. King was struggling to change how people look at one another. Blacks living in New York or white people living in Mississippi or Kentucky without Health care is no different when it come to discrimination. It’s being poor. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. fought to tear down the walls for injustice. He fought for equality and fairness but the rules change rapidly and many of the issues he fought for went underground. Yes, we have had some strive in equality but it hasn’t fixed a broken people yet in this country.

Washington, DC and the power to be continued work the same way they have been for decades, but we as a people can make changes among our own lives to help one another and to cherish the values that we have in our families for this nation.

The USDA National Statistical Service and U.S. Census Bureau, provides statistics of despair indicating a decrease in minority farming, loans, home buying, the list goes on and it continues to get worst. You don’t need to have a degree in Business, Agriculture, or Mathematics to see that American minorities are hurting and no one cares. Just go to your local business and see the disparity among professional jobs, with Black-man/women, Hispanic-man/women and other minorities that make up this rich nation of our. The prices that the poor people pay is astounding and it is going to get worst everyday.

In 2006 the Forbes Magazine posted it Forbes 400 Billionaires in this country. We should have people in this country that has exceeds the rules, but when it come at the expense of the people doing the work that a shame. Many of these Billionaires became wealth because someone else did the work and they capture the riches by providing the management, guidance’s, and money to get those riches. But we need to continue to help those that are less fortunate and help them achieve they goals as well.

However, discrimination has continued to knock the doors down and others out of business. There has been a lot of celebration in the 20th century for many reasons, Civil Rights moments, and the death of Reverend Dr. Orange a civil rights leader, the opening of the Rosa Parks Museum, and the 40th Anniversary of the tragic assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis, Tennessee and the list goes on. We should have leaned a lot sense Dr. King’s death but the walls of injustice are still a part of African American people and it needs to be torn down and rebuilt so that social structure or reorganization is done. Our society continues to put-up walls so our low-income American can’t survive in an industry that make Trillions for some. Although racism and discrimination was even stronger them it has not lost any wind sense 1968.

Tearing Down The Walls should have been our first priority in the 20th Century but we are 4 months into the 2008 fiscal year and 2009 is staring us down. We should turn up the heat and eliminated the Walls that divide us. The power brokers in this country need to change how they look at poverty and not shove it under the carpet. Many of these issues are continuing, growing problems between our country and we as a people need to continue the battle and make our leader accountable. Discrimination can be reformed by understanding the anger that has interrupted the progress for success. We need to reposition our values that fuel these problems and stand-up and fight for equal justice for all, like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did for All. His fire has always been in us, let’s not give it back and fight for our rights.

Color Business Card Printing

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

One effective way of making your business cards look more professional is using colors on your card. There are different ways to add color to your card. You can use one color as Agent Zero M background of your card or add colored graphics or photos. Putting your photo on a business card can make it easier for your potential clients to remember you and your company because they are able to associate your face with your company. However, there are also some disadvantages to putting your photo on your business card, such as higher costs.

Advantages of photos

If you are in the real estate business or in any “relationship” business, putting your photo on your card can build trust between you and your potential client because it allows the client to get acquainted with you in a non-threatening way. Another advantage is that photos help the client recognize you during meetings and clarify ambiguous names. Adding a photo to your card can also make your card more interesting because it adds an extra dimension to an otherwise plain card.

Disadvantages

One disadvantage of putting a photo on your business card is that you become vulnerable to pre-judging from potential clients based on how you look in the picture, your Evel Knievel or your age. Another disadvantage is that you must always keep your cards updated with a fairly recent picture. An old photo can give the impression that your card is not Chatty Cathy distributed, which can mean that there is not much demand for your business. One of the biggest disadvantages of including a photo on your business card is the added cost that comes with it, as you are using color and there is a need to update and reprint the card often.

Putting your photo on your business card can be an effective marketing tool. It increases awareness about your business because of name and face recall. Although there are some disadvantages to using photos, all you need to do is plan the layout and carefully choose the photo that you use, as this is a great part of the lasting impression you leave on potential clients.

Serving Clients Versus Fixing Them

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

The first thing we coaches tell our clients is, we are not therapists. We assume you are whole, not fragmented and The Phantom need of fixing. That appeals to clients; I am not a broken machine or a broken 1960’s toys of something; I am not an object to be fixed. If anything, I am deserving to be served. That is to say, it appeals to part of them. Another part of them, like all of us, may recognize that there are many different parts of ourselves and all too often they are in disagreement Haunt of Fear one another; and THAT part feels a bit uncomfortable at that point in time: what am I doing here? Should I really be investing in a therapist instead of a coach?

Jungian coaches recognize this internal conflict as they recognize that coaches and therapists do very similar work, but under very different ground rules. The client has made a choice, and primarily the choice is where to come from in himself or herself. But he or she has made similar choices of where to come from in his decisions of commitment throughout his life. Whichever his choices, the different parts of himself are present, recognized or not.

The issue for the coach, who in his choice of profession has committed to serving and not fixing, goes beyond the vain question of what would make the client feel served, to the substantive question of what would serve to resolve the issues that the client’s agenda raises?

By way of illustration and example: clients who come to coaching are frequently angry. These persons come from a victim-role place (which all but guarantees will make them angry) and their rant on whatever circumstances they have taken themselves as a victim ask in essence “is it not all right to be angry?” This they have done many times with others to solicit them to ask similarly of themselves, then they both can take comfort in that it IS all right. The coach has a choice of ways to deal with this.

One way would be the answer the question: no, it is not all right. Perceiving yourself as a victim will only strengthen the opposite, the victimizer part of yourself; and sooner or later that victimizer will take some action that would do you no good. But defining it as wrong characterizes it as a problem, that begs a solution - in other words, a “fix”.

Another way, thinking of serving not fixing, the coach asks what has Star Trek movie himself, or would serve? The Jungian concept is that the events of our lives are in fact parts of ourselves, if the universal scope of the Greater Self is considered; and this is true even of the things that “happen” to us. Thus, all things happen for a reason. When one, be he a coach or not, fully accepts this, he comes to experience he is not angry like he used to be, indeed he has no need to be. If not angry, he would have no need to ask the question of whether it is all right to be angry, and with no negative answer would have no problem to fix. It is that Jungian concept that would serve here, and we need a way to express and explain it.I.

But how can one get over being angry?

To someone not familiar with the root concepts of Jungian psychology, it can be daunting and challenging, if not incredible. Still, ways can be found to introduce it in an accepting manner. It may help to introduce it in reverse order. In the above example, you might ask, if you were NOT angry would you ask is it all right to be? And if you did not ask, would the answer to that question be important? Then, why might you not be angry? If you knew and understood the reason for given circumstances, would you be so angry? And if not, then IF ONLY you knew the reason. Maybe tomorrow you will!

It is so often temptingly easy to consider a given situation a problem to be fixed. Finding a way to serve is often not so easy. But the client has already wrestled with the question: why should I pay money just to be served? If he can do that, surely we as coaches can wrestle with what action WOULD serve.

I am indebted to Marlena Field’s poem “Fixer” for inspiration of ideas for this article.

Manuscript Book Ghost Writers & Copy Editors

Friday, April 24th, 2009

You should become 1969 Topps baseball cards manuscript or book author’s ghost writer, Care Bears editor and proof reader. However, if you’re only starting to think about a Viagra Information career, I suggest you get a bachelor’s degree in English or whatever language, perhaps in language studies, English literature, creative writing, or English in general. A master’s degree or higher is even better. I myself have a combined degree in journalism, fine arts and creative writing.

Once you have that, you need to get some experience. You could be hired by literary magazines, especially at your school, or you could write articles for newspapers, perhaps starting your own column. You can also acquire writing jobs on the Internet by looking up work. I suggest avoiding the low paying bidding jobs and going for regular posted work at sites like Daylo, or other freelancer’s sites - where writing work is posted for free.

Once you have a few writing credits, you can begin your ghost writing career. I would suggest trying to get hired by a book ghost writers service, as there are many on the Internet. Another possibility is you can start your own service, as I did; mine is called Rainbow Writing, Inc., and we hire people who either have a lot of professional experience, a good educational background, and/or show a lot of writing talent. I have over thirty years of experience at writing, especially as a book ghost writer, copy editor and proof reader.

Once you get on the Internet, you will need to search engine optimize your website, post lots of articles with your credit box attached to them, or hire pay per click or other services to get advertising exposure. Then you can begin to acquire clients. You may start by offering a free five to ten page rewrite of a chapter the James Bond attache case sends you; this is what is generally expected of a book ghost writer and copy editor. You can quote a price, and I would start fairly low early on in your career, unless you have prior writing experience. Ask the client what he or she can afford, but stay reasonable, so you can keep your costs low and pay your bills.

As book ghost writers, copy editors and proof readers, we all need to make sure our clients are satisfied with their results. So while you are in the writing field, make sure you read copiously and on a regular basis, write short stories, poems and articles on a regular basis to refresh your writing skills, and be sure to work on a novel or two of your own. This will keep you handy when it comes to being a book writer for others as well. Another possibility is to keep a daily hardbound journal of your writing or simply comment on your daily activities, thoughts and dreams. This sort of thing can keep you really practices; I kept such a journal for over twenty years.

As to scheduling, it’s a good idea to take on as many clients as you can handle. Don’t overload, but you’d be surprised how much work you can do once you get into the swing of it. Try to get a book ghost writer job done in two to three months. If you charge $5000 per book at first, you can make $20,000-30,000 a year if you keep up on a regular basis. Once you have more experience, you can begin charging more money.

When you are a book author, ghost writer, copy editor and proof reader, you will find you are working a job that really consumes your time, so make sure you take the time to perform your other daily Garbage Pail Kids of family life, and set aside a one hour period every day to exercise. Book writers are one group of people who have the “sedentary lifestyle pattern” hazard, so in order to avoid getting sick, you must exercise. If you don’t want to go outside and walk, purchase a cheap treadmill. Those work quite well.

Book authors, ghost writers, copy editors and proof readers all need to maintain the standards of our profession. When you are a ghost writer of any kind, chances are you won’t be allowed to take credit for your work. It’s supposed to belong to the works true “author,” who is the person paying you to do the ghost writing. Even if you do most or all of the work, your client is the author of it and is the one who receive the credit, unless you make some other arrangement. If the client is willing, you can be coauthors with him or her, or make some other such arrangement, such as you getting credit and a percentage of book sales in lieu of upfront payment.

By the way - the method of payment for a manuscript or book ghost writer is upfront. You get paid in advance, in installments usually as the book is being written. This is the main advantage of being a book or manuscript ghost writer, copy editor and proof reader - upfront payment. You need to sound the client out on his or her budget, set a total price, and then ask for the first installment payment once you have been hired.

You might also sign a contract with a non disclosure clause with the client. The contract might be three way, if you are working for a ghost writing agency, or two way, if it’s just you and the client signing it. A non disclosure clause states that you won’t discuss the book’s contents with anyone not designated by the client as someone with whom you may do so. Also, copyright laws in the USA and several other countries treatied with the USA, such as England, Canada and Australia, state that the author of the ghost written work retains full copyrights. You can check with the US Copyrights Office on the Internet to read the full scope of these laws.

Basically, even if you write the whole work yourself from research and you get nothing but basic ideas for the book from the supposed “author,” he or she is still considered the true author of any such ghost written book, and will still hold full copyrights to all original material within it. This is, however, subject to whatever agreements you and the client make.

After the job is proof read, paid for and delivered, ask for a reference, also asking the client if it’s okay to run an installment from the work on your website - with a credit that you are the ghost writer. Also, when the book is published, ask the client to include a reference to your name, perhaps within the Acknowledgments, as the book ghost writer.

You also don’t have to stop as just the manuscript or book ghost writer. You may also be able to help your client set up to get his or her book published. This largely involves contacting literary agents and publishers. I would suggest contacting small publishing houses, and not the larger ones, unless you have a celebrity client with a large scale best seller on your hands. Due to confidentiality issues and ethical issues, you can’t maintain contact with literary agents and publishers on a regular basis, but you can acquire lists of these people in order to contact them. Some more disreputable manuscript and book ghost writers also set up deals with literary agents and publishers where they are sent clients’ work that the agents and publishers were sent, in order to edit it for them. Under the table money is made this way. It’s not considered to be ethical practice.

It’s satisfying to complete a client’s book manuscript and then find him or her an agent and/or publisher. You can get a percentage of book sales this way, or by negotiating a deal with the book’s author while you are being the book ghost writer. Sometimes a client will want you to work “on spec;” instead of paying you in advance, they will ask you to take a percentage of the book’s profits. Unless you’re sure the book is going to sell broadly, it’s not advisable to do this, or you could end up working for free. But once you’ve got a book publisher’s attention, anything is possible.

Lastly, be sure and enjoy your new career. Writing can be a fulfilling line of work, so if you keep at it, you can have tons of fun working for authors, getting the first time one’s books written and published, and in general, having a “blast” as a book author, book writer, ghost writer, copy editor, and proof reader.

Get out there, now - and write!

Are Attorneys Necessary to Register a Trademark?

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Trademark registration seems like a relatively straightforward process. There are online forms available through the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO.Gov) and companies such as Six Million Dollar Man action figure There is no legal requirement Batman movie a licensed attorney file a trademark application.

However, there are some very good reasons why you should hire a qualified trademark lawyer to file for trademark registration with the USPTO. Every mark involves a series of extremely important decisions which need to be made. It is much easier to fill out the form, than it is to fill out the Bandai Godzilla correctly. Moreover, even if you are able to get through the trademark registration process and receive your certificate, you may end up holding nothing more than worthless piece of paper. Just because the trademark office allows you to register a mark, does not mean that that mark is valid. Errors in filling out the trademark registration forms can seriously diminish your rights, can in some instances, invalidate your trademark registration.

A qualified intellectual property attorney will know which version of your brand should be registered as a trademark, whether to registered as a text mark, stylized design mark or a stylized design plus text mark. Each type is fundamentally different and will impact the scope of rights you obtain at registration. Trademark registration lawyers are trained to understand which international classes are the ones related to your business, whether or not the mark should be filed in your name, your company’s name or whether a new company should be set up to hold the registration.

Decisions concerning first use in commerce and what should be filed as a specimen are critical to success. Perhaps the most important overlooked item is a trademark availability or clearance search prior to filing for registration. If you are creating a new brand, you need to make sure that you are not infringing on someone else’s preexisting rights before attempting to file for your own trademark registration. If you are registering for an existing long-term brand, you need to understand that the USPTO database is public and that many companies monitor that database. If a company has preexisting rights, your registration filing may trigger a threat letter or federal court The Joker action figure asking a judge to preclude you from using your proposed mark in the future.

No, you aren’t required to hire a trademark attorney in order to register. But in most instances, it is well worth the money to make sure you get it right the first time.
